OUR CHURCH
St Anthony's Parish Church, in the Diocese
of Down & Connor, is situated on the Woodstock Road in East Belfast.
Our Parish is a group of like-minded people who gather together to
worship around the Altar of God. Under the guidance of St Anthony
the spirit of belonging is highlighted through the friendship and
sense of connection evident when we come together.
St Anthony walks with us and having come through many troubles with
his protection, we seek with privilege to emulate all that he stands
for - tradition, guidance, and protection.

OUR CHOIR
"To
sing is to pray twice"(St. Augustine)
Dr Grzegorz Skibinski,
is Director of Music and Choirmaster. He has introduced a wide-ranging
repertoire of music for the Choir, which includes Hymns, Classical,
Christian popular ballads as well as Taize and Gregorian Chant.
In addition to enhancing Church Worship with music, the choir are
in demand for Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals and other occasions.
Please note: at present
there is no choir and no rehearsals.
New members are most welcome. Rehearsals are
held on Monday nights (7.00-8.30pm) If you can sing and would like
to join the choir and learn new music, please speak to Greg or any choir
member before or after Sunday Mass.
Miss Gertrude Brady was the first
resident organist and choir mistress in St Anthony's from the 1950's.
She led the hymn singing at two masses on Sundays and other church
occasions. She taught music and singing in St Anthony's School and
trained the children's choir who sang at 10.00am mass every Sunday.
Sadly, Gertie passed away on Friday 27th November, 2009 and her
funeral Mass was held on Tuesday 1st December, 2009. The full choir
was in attendance and sang her favourite hymns.
